Practical Solutions for Your Family's Legal Needs

Minnesota Divorce Attorney

Divorce is the termination of the marital relationship between spouses.  In Minnesota, the Court will grant a divorce when there has been an "irretrievable breakdown" of the marriage relationship.  Minnesota is considered a "no-fault" divorce state, meaning that a divorce can be obtained without one spouse having to prove that there was some sort of marital misconduct or fault.  During a divorce proceeding, the court (or you if you come to an agreement) will determine many rights including:  child custody, parenting time (visitation), property division, child support, and spousal maintenance (alimony).  These are important determinations that will affect the rest of your life.  If you are considering a divorce or have been served with divorce paperwork by your spouse, it is a good idea to seek the advice of a family law attorney.
